Black Gay Men’s Blog was 2 months old on Wednesday and Black Gay Men’s Forum is now officially open! It seems like it has been much longer than 2 months, so much has happened in such a short space of time. Once again, thank you guys for all your support. So far it has been a blast and there’s a whole lot more to come. We will be adding tweaks and modifying the forum, as we go along. It is the perfect place for you to start your own topics, or continue the most popular and/or animated discussions with much less moderation than on the blog. The forum will grow with demand, but at the moment there is a general Black Gay Men’s Forum, where you can post and discuss anything of interest. Then, there’s the Hot Topics section, where conversations from the blog can be continued. We need your help for the Black LGBT and HIV Resources Forum – if you know of any useful resources in your city and town, please list them here. If your city is not listed, please start a thread with your city as the topic. There are also Dating & Relationships, Health & Wellness, Black Gay Men’s HIV and AIDS Support (which will be strictly maintained as a safe place for HIV+ members, absolutely no discrimination allowed in here) and Black Gay Men After Dark (which will be much less moderated – conversations of an adult nature welcome here) forums. Some of the forums are members only, to ensure more privacy and others can be read by non-members, but you’ll have to register to respond or start your own thread. I hope you guys make use of the Black Gay Men’s Forum and let’s try and make and keep it a space where we can share, learn, grow, have fun and respect each other.
Join The Black Gay Men’s Blog Team
We have learned a lot over the last 2 months - got a lot of stuff right and messed up one or two things. Overall, I am pleased with the progress of the blog so far and have a lot of ideas for the future. We still need regular contributors, so please hit us up from the Contact Us page. It is not all going to be serious all the time, at Black Gay Men’s Blog, there will be some lighthearted stuff too, so whatever your interests are, you might be able to contribute. I would really like someone with an interest in entertainment – music, the arts, that kind of stuff. To be honest, when I started this blog, I didn’t think I would be doing as much as I am now. Don’t get me wrong, I run about a million blogs, but I want this to have more of a community feel – so PLEASE come on board, if you can. Even if you can only contribute once a month, that’s fine. I just want different voices, not just mine.
Black Gay Nightlife and LGBT Events Listings
Over the next few days, we will be adding an events section, covering both nightlife and other LGBT events. If you are a promoter, event planner, nightclub owner and you want your event listed, just Contact Us and we will see about getting your event listed. There will be a file upload feature added to the contact form really soon, so fliers and other images can be uploaded, along with the details of your event. Events will be listed in the two separate categories, LGBT events and Nightlife and then sub-categories, which will be cities.
Black Gay Men’s Blog Supports The Arts
In the months of April through July, you will notice a few changes and additions, as we go along. The bookstore will be open any day now, because some of us like reading and there are so many black gay and LGBT authors out there worth supporting. In general, we will have a lot more interviews with and showcasing off black gay artists, authors, poets, rappers, drag queens, entertainers and anything to do with the arts and entertainment. It is very important to me, that we support our black gay and LGBT artists. A lot of us think nothing about spending fifty to hundred dollars on a night out, buy a book every now and then, go see a show by an LGBT artist, donate, spread the word, do whatever you can. If we don’t support the arts, all the creative voices out there won’t be heard.
Black Gay Men’s Blog Goes Live
Black Gay Men’s Blog has so many other exciting things on the way, but we need your input. We want to know what you guys want to see or want more of. There will be a radio show launching really soon – do you have any topics you would like us to discuss live on air? Would you like a call in show? From the blog, to the radio show, to wherever else we go from here, I want you guys to be a part of the process. You guys are what makes Black Gay Men’s Blog different from my other projects, so PLEASE let us hear your suggestions.
As always, your support is greatly appreciated! Thank your for being a part of Black Gay Men’s Blog, there are tons of blogs online and it means a lot that you guys choose to come and spend some time here. If you haven’t already, please check out Black Gay Men’s Blog On Facebook – like and share to help spread the word. Your suggestions, contributions and input mean a lot to all of us at Black Gay Men’s Blog.

Thanks Storm for setting up this blog. It’s rare that I’ve seen an web site that’s devoted to black gay men that’s not a hookup or sex site. I’m a black gay man who came out late like Cleon at the age of forty. I knew I was homosexual, but I suppressed it for many years largely because I wanted to have a “normal” life and did not want to get HIV. I largely focused on my career until one day it dawned on me that I wasn’t going to have a “normal” life. The funny thing is that my family wasn’t all that surprised when I came out to them and since I’m independent, it doesn’t really matter to me how they feel about it. I’m much more comfortable with myself than ever and would like to hear other mature mens’ stories.
